QuickBooks Point of Sale Support

Still using QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale? You’re not alone and you don’t have to figure it out on your own.

QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale has been discontinued by Intuit, but many retailers continue to use the software because it still works for the way they run their businesses.

Ability Business has been supporting QuickBooks Point of Sale since 2005. Our team continues to provide consulting and technical support for retailers using QuickBooks POS, including older and discontinued versions.

Whether you need help troubleshooting an issue, reinstalling or activating your software, working through a configuration problem, or understanding how your POS and QuickBooks Desktop work together, we’re here to help.

Important: QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale is a discontinued product. Intuit ended support and connected services for QuickBooks POS on October 3, 2023. The software can continue to be used, but it no longer receives product updates or security patches from Intuit. Learn more about QuickBooks Point of Sale discontinuation.

QuickBooks POS Support from a Team That Knows the Product

QuickBooks Point of Sale was a significant part of Ability Business’s history and we’ve spent more than two decades helping retailers use it effectively.

Even though Intuit no longer provides direct support for QuickBooks POS, Ability Business continues to provide support on a consulting basis.

Our support may include:

  • Troubleshooting QuickBooks Point of Sale issues
  • Installation and configuration assistance
  • Software activation assistance
  • Database and workstation troubleshooting
  • Help with POS settings and workflows
  • Guidance on QuickBooks Desktop integration
  • Assistance with reports and POS functionality
  • Guidance when hardware or computer changes affect your POS
  • Helping you understand your options if your current POS environment is no longer meeting your needs

We can’t promise that every issue with discontinued software can be resolved, but we’ll use our experience and professional judgment to determine what can be done and help you understand your options.

QuickBooks POS Activation Support

Need to Activate QuickBooks POS?

If you’re reinstalling QuickBooks Point of Sale, moving it to another computer, or running into an activation issue, Ability Business can help.

$150 One-Time Activation Support

Our activation service includes assistance with the QuickBooks Point of Sale activation process and troubleshooting related to getting your existing POS installation activated.

Please note: Activation depends on the availability and functionality of Intuit’s discontinued activation services. Because QuickBooks POS is no longer supported by Intuit, Ability Business cannot guarantee that activation will be successful in every situation.

What Does QuickBooks Support Cost?

$150 per hour

QuickBooks Point of Sale support, consulting, and troubleshooting are billed at $150 per hour, in 6-minute (0.1 hour) increments.

For straightforward needs, we’ll help you understand the expected scope of the work before we begin whenever possible.

Some services, such as QuickBooks POS activation support, are offered at a one-time $150 fee rather than being billed hourly.

Our Professional Commitment

Our goal is to provide quality consulting and support services on schedule and at a reasonable cost.

We use our professional judgment to determine which members of our team are best suited to assist with your particular situation. Depending on the issue, support may involve a consultant, analyst, developer, or other member of the Ability Business team.

Because QuickBooks Point of Sale is discontinued software and may rely on services or technology outside of our control, we cannot guarantee that every issue can be resolved or that a particular result will be achieved. We’ll do our best to diagnose the issue, explain what we’re seeing, and help you determine the most practical path forward.

You’re Using an Older Product. You Still Deserve Support.

We know that replacing a POS system isn’t always as simple as “just switch to something new.” Your POS may contain years of item, customer, inventory, and transaction history and your employees already know how to use it.

If QuickBooks Point of Sale is still working for your business, we’re here to help you keep it working for as long as reasonably possible.

And when the time comes to consider a new POS, Ability Business can help you evaluate your options based on how your business actually operates not simply sell you another system.
