New Features for QuickBooks Desktop 2022
QuickBooks Desktop 2022 Released this Fall
Technology and software are ever changing just like the seasons and this year is no different. Each Fall, Intuit announces the enhancements and new features for the new release of QuickBooks Desktop. Read along as I review the new subscription pricing model for QuickBooks Pro and Premier Plus; share the benefits of the subscription; discuss new features; and note enhancements for QuickBooks Desktop 2022. Subscription Model Pricing
A few years ago, QuickBooks Enterprise moved to subscription pricing, so it is no surprise that QuickBooks Pro, Premier, and Mac have moved that direction with the release of QuickBooks Desktop 2022. Previously, customers could purchase Pro, Premier, or Mac outright and use the product until sunsetted. That time frame was typically every 3 years as Intuit discontinued services such as Intuit Payroll, QuickBooks Payments, Support, and other connected services.
With moving all the product offerings to subscription (noted with the “Plus” at the end of the name) this year, Intuit will be able to focus the maintenance on “one” version instead of 3 and utilize resources to stay on top of trends, release updates, security patches, and build out the road map for continued future enhancements, features, and functionality.
The QuickBooks Pro and Premier Plus subscription includes unlimited customer support from QuickBooks; access to the latest features, security patches, and updates; automatic backup and recovery; and the NEW – QuickBooks Desktop mobile app-based receipt management.
Don’t worry if you purchased QuickBooks Desktop Pro or Premier 2021 outright this past year, Intuit will continue to support this product until May of 2024 when it is set to be discontinued.
Enhancements and New Features for QuickBooks Desktop 2022
First, let’s talk about the enhancements and new features for QuickBooks Pro/Premier Plus 2022 and then dive into the additional features for QuickBooks Enterprise 2022.
Enhanced Computing Power (64-bit)
QuickBooks 2022 now has enhanced computing power with 64-bit bringing this financial accounting software up to modern operating system standards. With a 64-bit processor, you should see quicker load times, and faster task completions, and faster generation of reports. With that said, before upgrading to QuickBooks Desktop 2022 and installing the software, be sure to check your computers and servers for compatibility. You can read more about the recommended tech requirements for QuickBooks Pro/Premier Plus and QuickBooks Enterprise respectively. E-commerce Integration
With QuickBooks partnering with Webgility for e-commerce integration and QuickBooks Desktop Point of Sale v19, it is no surprise that they have teamed up to offer this add-on service for QuickBooks Desktop 2022. What we love about QuickBooks is that it is a great foundation for small and mid-market businesses and that you can fill the voids for additional needs with 3rd party apps.

Schedule and Pay Bills Faster
Who wouldn’t like checking off their task list quicker? By scheduling and paying bills within QuickBooks, you can save time, use the funding source you want, and selecting the vendor’s preferred method – check or bank transfer. Bill Pay is powered by Melio. Learn more by watching this video.
Attach Documents with the Desktop Mobile App
Stay organized and up to date with vendor receipts and bills by snapping an image with the QuickBooks Desktop Mobile App. Additionally, you can have your vendors email their invoices to your customized QuickBooks email. Back at QuickBooks, you can quickly review what’s been snapped and generated for bills before adding to the register. Learn more by watching this video.
Customize and Email Bill Payment Stubs
Build your brand by editing your logo, customizing relevant information, and saving time by selecting to email one or multiple vendors.
Choose from Multiple Email Contacts
Send emails to multiple recipients from a list of customers or vendor contacts. No more adding additional emails manually or worse yet remembering to add them.
Payment Links for Payment Users
Easily send payment links to collect deposits or retainers from customers plus utilize this feature to send one payment link for the total amount owed for multiple invoices. Note: QuickBooks users need a QuickBooks Payment account.
Next Day Funding and Instant Deposit for Payment Users
For QuickBooks users with a QuickBooks Payments account receive next day funding from your credit card payments. Additionally, you can select the instant deposit feature to see deposits in your account immediately. Note: Additional fees may apply and are based on eligibility requirements.
Simplified Activations for Assisted Payroll Users
Added in-product guidance will assist you with setting up QuickBooks Assisted Payroll and even running your first payroll. Additionally, receive support from US-based onboarding QuickBooks experts when questions arise. Note: This feature is available in any supported version of QBDT.
Next Day Direct Deposit for Assisted Payroll users
You never know when issues arise with payroll, with QuickBooks Assisted Payroll get an extra day to run payroll when needed. Note: This feature available in any supported version of QBDT
As you can see, QuickBooks has been working hard to bring you enhancements and features that will allow you to complete tasks quicker and work more efficiently plus when needed give you grace to run Assisted Payroll.
Enhancements and New Features for QuickBooks Enterprise 2022

Bill Workflow Approvals
